Why does GheeStore sell only ghee, honey and cold pressed oil?

Because those are the three things the founders could not buy honestly in the open market. GheeStore, established in January 2015, is India’s first exclusive online store for pure desi cow ghee, buffalo ghee and marachekku oil. Different ghees serve different needs — Ayurveda, daily cooking, sweets, homam — and most shops never say whether the fat came from cow or buffalo, or from pasteurised, homogenised milk. Ours comes from natural milk, is lab-certified, and is clean enough that families use it for newborns (always consult your physician).

What is the difference between Pure Cow Ghee and Desi Cow Ghee?

Desi cow ghee is pure cow ghee made specifically from the milk of indigenous, grass-fed Indian cows — typically A2 — then bilona-churned from curd and cooked slowly. ‘Pure cow ghee’ should mean the same thing, but the label is widely abused. At GheeStore, both phrases point to the same traditional product: no machines, no chemicals, cotton-filtered, wood-fired.

How is your ghee made?

Curd is set from fresh milk, churned to butter (the Vedic bilona method), then the butter is slowly cooked — traditionally in earthen pots — until the water leaves and the milk solids brown. The golden fat is filtered through natural cotton. No machines, no preservatives, no flavouring.

Do you sell by the litre or the kilogram?

By the kilogram. 1 kg of ghee or oil is about 1.1 litres, so you receive roughly 100 ml extra compared with a 1-litre pack. Most brands sell by volume; a litre of oil often weighs only around 910 g. We also slightly overfill so a small leak never short-changes you.

What is the shelf life? Should I refrigerate?

Ghee keeps a little over 90 days at room temperature, and much longer in the fridge. If you will finish a jar in 3–4 months, do not refrigerate — cold ghee picks up moisture and loses aroma. Store airtight, away from sunlight. Butter must be refrigerated and used quickly; we do not ship butter outside Chennai.

Is GheeStore ghee suitable for babies and for homam?

Yes to both, with the usual medical caution for infants. We sell only edible ghee in its purest form. Cheap ‘pooja ghee’ in the market is often adulterated with animal fat or vanaspati. If you offer ghee in a homam, it should be food you would eat.

Why is it more expensive than supermarket ghee?

Because it is made without machines from real milk, converted to butter, then to ghee, then lab-tested. Industrial ghee is a different product. You will taste the difference in the first spoon.

Where do you deliver? Is shipping free?

Across India from Chennai. Free delivery in Chennai above ₹750, and free to anywhere in India on orders of 5 kg and above. Stock is packed fresh — typically made less than 7–10 days before it reaches you.

What if I am not satisfied?

100% money-back guarantee. Return at least 90% of unused ghee within 3 days for a full refund on packs up to 1 kg.

Is there an offline store?

No. GheeStore is online-only, with a registered trademark in India. Order on GheeStore.in, or WhatsApp +91 97908 11777. We do not take calls.
